Hi, I’m Crystal, a Canadian astrologer whose life-long focus has been, and still is, natal (birth) astrology.
One might wonder how a person gets so deeply into astrology that she dedicates her life to the craft, but for me, that was never the question. When I first found astrology at the age of 11, the question was: how could someone not totally love this topic! It was everything I enjoyed. It was mystical, analytical, psychological, and it seemed to provide answers to important questions. It was completely enchanting, and from the moment I found it, I studied it intensely—I utterly devoured it. (You may have guessed—I’m a Scorpio Sun Sign.) As esoteric as it is, astrology has always made perfect sense to me. Even at that young age, it seemed clear and completely familiar.
In high school, I was the strange kid who drew weird looking charts with cryptic symbols during her spare. They nick-named me Crystal Ball and I didn’t mind. In fact, I did practice readings on anyone who wanted one, including my teachers. I studied, largely independently, for 10 years before offering my services to clients in March of 1989 and this quickly grew into an international practice that I have maintained ever since.
Despite this mystical leaning, I also feel strongly about being grounded in reality. To that end, I have an honours B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and an M.A. in Cultural Astronomy from the University of Wales (July 2020). I’m a member the Canadian Positive Psychology Association and have taken foundational psychoanalysis through the Toronto Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I also maintain an active interest in chronobiology which is the study of biological rhythms, because this is the scientific field that explores how the biology of the body relates itself to the light/dark and seasonal cycles of the environment.
In my spare time, you’ll often find me reading about psycholinguistics, depth psychology, and neuroscience. I love stand-up comedy, and music, and if you’ve ever had a session with me, you’ll know that music is big part of the preparation process for my readings.
Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you find some interesting information here. My intention is to continue to add tools and insights that are grounded in my own studies, and in my ever-deepening understanding of my craft, to help you with your own journey. And to answer a question I get a lot: yes, Crystal Eves is the name I was given at birth. : )
